Christine and her niece and nephew delivered a beautifully constructed wooden box, very architecturally composed. The slowly unveiled message, contained in the slowly unveiled bottle, which was contained in the slowly unveiled wooden box used poetry and art to highlight recycling in a most unique manner. The combination suggested that the recycling program will require our stopping to think and discover the beauty for our city and our planet in recycling.

Christine P @ Jax Building

I received this gift from Marcus Young on Wednesday afternoon July 1, 2009 and opened the promising box with my niece and nephew, Lisa and Paul Abascal Larson, on Thursday morning. Paul says he likes it. "I like the bottle made out of clay and the colors of blue and white". Lisa says "this bottle is amazingly made out of clay and I think it is fantastic that people will be reusing it! The messages on cloth were very creative and I think many people will enjoy it. The multicolored clay is very pretty!"
I love slowly pulling out each piece of cloth and having it unfold to a trail of message. I love the little embroidered punctuations. Thanks to the artists who made each and every piece! We will take good care of the gift by passing it on and will take good care of beautiful Mears Park by always recycling!
